The Bologna Process
The system of higher education in Poland is adjusted to resolutions and guidelines of the Bologna Process. Its goal is to increase the quality of education and the prestige of European universities, as well as to adopt a standardised scale of grades and academic degrees. The ECTS system (European Credit Transfer System, points awarded for every subject completed during studies) is binding in Poland. Additionally, for better international recognition of European diplomas, an obligatory diploma supplement is issued in a commonly used European language, most often in English.
